The building was originally erected in approximately 1895 by the Standard Oil Company as a small warehouse with a stable. The fuels would arrive by train directly to the site. and were then delivered to homes and businesses by horse drawn tank carts. At the time the main products of use were kerosene for lighting and lubricants for furniture factories which had become prevalent in the area. In 1912 the building was remodeled to add another story and expand it's footprint. It remained in the ownership of Standard Oil Company until 1950 when it was purchased by then employee, Verland Danielson. On May 11, 2023 the building suffered a major fire. The building endured the damage and remained structurally sound, allowing us the opportunity to rebuild the interior. (Though, it is still a work in progress.)
Danielson Oil Company was founded in 1950 by Verland Danielson who ran the company with his wife Doris and worked until his retirement in 1990. Verland's sons Tom and Mark Danielson took over after his retirement and ran the business together for several years. Mark eventually sold his share to Tom who ran the company with his wife Shirley until her retirement. Tom is looking forward to his own retirement soon, when his son Andrew will be partnering up with employee Eric Johnson. Andrew and Eric are excited to bring Danielson Oil Company forward to the next generation.
